"Significant Aboriginal Fine Artworks to be Auctioned"
2004-05-25 until 2004-05-25
Lawson Menzies
Sydney, NS, AU Australia

Lawson Menzies CEO Paul Sumner has announced that the company will hold two stand alone Aboriginal art auctions in Sydney per year the first being May 25th this year. Showing a lead in this area the company will also set up an independent foundation that will receive two percent of every sale, donated by Lawson Menzies, to benefit health and education among our Indigenous communities. Featured in this first auction is work by Wayne Quilliam, one of Australia's leading Indigneous photographers.

This is one of the few times when photography has been included with traditional art and with some of the masters of Aboriginal art. Wayne Quilliam is the only photographer represented in the collection. Along with the recent release of a Mauri/New Zealand book featuring Wayne's photographs, he has recently been published in two New York magazines and his work now graces the covers of the Human Rights Commission Report and Archetype Magazine.

Wayne Quilliam has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since February 2001. He has exhibited internationally and Quilliam's work is in museum collections from Australia to Japan to Sweden. View more of his work at: www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/w/waynequilliam/
