"Gartel: Thirty Years of Digital Art"
2004-06-05 until 2004-08-21
Coral Springs Museum of Art
Coral Springs, FL, USA United States of America

Gartel's dynamic exhibition opened on Saturday June 5th, at the Coral Springs Museum of Art. The opening was a brilliant "birthday party bash" extravaganza as it was also the artist's birthday. The date also celebrated the "30-YEAR" milestone in the continuum of art history. Considered to be the "FATHER" of the Digital Art Movement around the world for three decades, the Gartel happens to reside in Boca Raton, Florida - a true treasure for the cultural community.

The exhibition, "GARTEL: 30-YEARS of DIGITAL ART" showcasing GARTEL's brilliant exploration of a medium he helped incubate and trail blaze. Nobody even knew what a computer was when Gartel was working on his first pieces at Media Study/Buffalo in upstate, New York. Today, the computer is a "household appliance" but the world of Gartel opened the doors for all the world to see.

"PRE-GATES," "PRE-APPLE," pre-everybody, Gartel took control of the electronic image and harnessed it to an aesthetic world. There has never been an artist in the history of art, that has uncovered such a new universe. - It is really overwhelming.

The Coral Springs Museum of Art is showcasing many of Gartel's crown jewels. It is most definitely worth a visit to this museum to see a universe that has made every art student in the world interested in the new digital genre.

The show is open now through August 21, 2004. We hope that all those that couldn't attend the opening, will stop by and see this exhibition.
