Patti Durkee, From the Heart Folk Art, grew up in Yarmouth Nova Scotia. She began collecting Folk Art many years ago. After attending the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival last summer, she decided to bring the whimsical and primitive styles of folk art to Ontario to make it a year-round industry.
"The quirky whimsical characters always bring a smile to your face and are pieces of art to be shared with your family and handed down for generations."
Patti is very pleased to have been given the opportunity to present this exhibit in association with the Wagner Rosenbaum Gallery. Paula Rossley, curator, has been interested in holding a show of this nature for quite some time. Patti's available inventory and informal relationship with the artists combined with the ideal venue of Wagner Rosenbaum Gallery are perfectly matched to turn the idea into reality.
