Jack N. Mohr, a life-long artist, studied art and graphic design in Berlin, Germany, and came to California in 1997. His abstract paintings, sculptures and collages have been shown in many solo exhibits and group shows in Germany and the U.S. His work deals with contradictions and uncommon combinations. In his paintings structures and surface effects are used to surpass two-dimensionality to provoke new impressions with every change of light or angle of view.

“My work deals with contradictions and uncommon combinations. Structures and surface effects are used to surpass two-dimensionality and provoke new impressions with any change of light or angle of view. I use a variety of mediums to create my often conceptual series. I prefer mixed media and ceramics, but also paint with acrylics or make collages and occasional prints to explore my themes.” From the artist's statement.

Jack N. Mohr has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutarts.com since 2002. View more of his work at www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/j/jnmohr/

Mohr is also included in two juried exhibitions ART AT WAR at the Aldo Castillo Gallery in Chicago until October 16, and AUTUMN ARTS at Saks Fifth Avenue in Santa Barbara through October.
