"Two Exhibitions: Works by Mark Jacobson and A Figurative Group Show"
2005-01-04 until 2005-02-02
Walter Wickser Gallery
New York, NY, USA United States of America

The Walter Wickser Gallery presents two exhibitions in January. Showing in the main gallery is "The Landscacpe of the Body, Figurative Group Show" in which four artists interpret the human body. In the Small Works Room Mark Jacobson displays Spirit Machines, Recent Paintings. The Walter Wickser Gallery is located on Broadway in New York.

In "The Landscacpe of the Body, Figurative Group Show", Eric Finzi, Annette Rawlings, Keith Webster and Junqing Wu explore the figure in many different techniques. “The human body fascinates us not least because it houses the human spirit. It is the carapace that makes us what we are. In celebrating the body, these four artists are also celebrating some of the myriad possibilities of being human.”* *Edward Lucie-Smith, 2004

In a solo exhibition Mark Jacobson shows Spirit Machines, Recent Paintings that are highly realistic oil paintings that combine tranquility with the symbolic.
