The fine artist, Renata Castilho, reveals her work in Chicago, in February 2005. Following the inspiration of the South of Brazil, Renata will exhibit twenty paintings of varied sizes, between 3’ x 3’ and 4’ x 8’ in mixed media: acrylic, crayon and charcoal. The paintings are being developed especially for the Brazilian Restaurant, Sal & Carvão.
In addition to the paintings, she has created six wall murals of various sizes, ranging in dimension from 64 sq. ft. to 288 sq. ft. The murals, directly inspired by Gaucho culture, are abstracts incorporating colors of the land and extensive texture.
Renata’s work will be distributed throughout the restaurant, which is the third and newest location in the Chicago area. This restaurant, located in Chicago’s North Loop, is being designed and decorated to match the quality of the kitchen and to appeal to the diversity and good taste of the city.
Renata has worked in close coordination with the restaurant owners and Katherine Ingrassia of KI Design to develop colorful, original works that synthesize and harmonize with the décor perfectly. It is a sight to be seen; a joy for the eye not to be missed.
Renata also has her work in Nana Bistro and Lounge in Chicago, at Lincoln Avenue and Diversey Parkway. For this restaurant, her work is a collection inspired by Big Cities, incorporating color and mixed media: oil, pastel and charcoal on canvas powerfully express a manifestation of her art.
Renata has been a Premiere Portfolio Member at absoluteart.com since 2004. View more of her works at
