Artist involvement in replacing an aging historic bridge in rural king county, Washington with a new truss bridge. Mt. Si Bridge crosses the mid-fork of the Snoqualmie River east of North Bend, Washington on a picturesque road leading to a regional hiking trailhead. The 100-year old steel bridge is deteriorating and too narrow for current use. A new truss bridge will replace the historic structure.
An artist is sought to join the team designing the new bridge, and to create enhancements for pedestrians. The overall construction budget is $15.7 million. The artist has a budget for design, implementation, and associated costs of $200,000. Open to artists residing in the United States.
