"Peter Hey: Gestalten/Figures"

Gallery Acculade in Amsterdam's IJburg exhibits the photopaintings of
Peter Hey from March 13th until April 24th, 2005. Peter Hey explains about
his works, "The Figures are 'portraits' with images depicted from outside
which create and form the innerworld. By rendering man as a Figure 'filled
in' with images depicted from their surroundings, 'portraits' appear in
which the essential and personal characteristics are reduced to expression
and outward characteristics like a silhouette or shadow."
A more complete image from identity can be seen from the images with
which they are 'filled'. These images come from the figure's surroundings,
images such as landscapes, still-lifes, and cityscapes; the images from
the outer world reflecting the innerworld, the identity. - Peter Hey, June
2003
"The photopaintings are a series in mixed media, a combiation of
photograpy and painting. The figures are painted in oil or acrylic on a
photograph. These have proven to be very suitable to paint on by there
protective coating. The paint therefore does not get in touch with the
paper while the paint stays very well attached on the coating in a pefect
condition," describes Peter Hey in February 2002.
Peter Hey promotes his artwork with an absolutearts.com Premiere
