The Red Gate Gallery in Beijing presents Viewing Space by Shi Zhongying until April 17, 2005. This exhibition of sculptures includes works that are small rooms that created from differnebnt types of screens - mesh or trellis-like grids. Doorways invite the viewer to look in as an observer, out as if caged, or through to the other side of the structure. Born in 1975, Shi Zhongying had exhibited both in China and in Europe and currently teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts, Hebei University.

Shi Zhongying participated in Six Young Urban Sculptors, Tianjin in 1997 and in 1998 was selected to show at the 97- 98 International Biological Sculpture Competition in Italy. His workes were included in Country of Pottery: China Contemporary Pottery International Traveling Exhibition which was exhibited in Madrid and London also during 1998.
In 2000 Shi Zhongying showed works in Conflicting and Choosing , the 2nd Contemporary Young Sculptors Invitational Exhibition in Hangzhou; Qingdao; Shenzhen. He has been exhibiting at Red Gate Gallery since 2001 in Red Hot, Sponsored by Ogilvy and Mather and in Clues to the Future - Red Gate Gallerys 10th Anniversary Beijing. In 2003 Shi Zhongying
participated in The First Beijing International Art Biennale at the National Art Gallery of China (NAGC) in Beijing. Shi Zhongyings works are in collections in Holland, England, the USA and also private collections within Beijing.
