"Gossip Pop - The Reality TV Tour: Sue Dodd"
2005-04-24 until 0000-00-00
Canberra Contemporary Art Space, Gorman House
Manuka, AC, AU

Gossip Pop is an ongoing art project that melds ‘gossip’ with ‘pop’ via live performance and video. Sue Dodd uses the medium of music video/pop performance to create the kind of product/performance that may spew from an emotionally dysfunctional, media-saturated child. Gossip Pop: The Reality TV Tour will include live performances of original songs and video images inspired by popular reality television shows such as Extreme Makeover (I wanna look on the outside how I feel on the inside) and Australian Idol (Dicko Marsha Mark). The performance combines deadpan ‘rap-on-mogadon’ vocal delivery and robotic movements with beats generated by GameBoy and palm pilot.

Sue Dodd will perform exciting new material gleaned from the pages of trashy gossip magazines (Starfucker, Courtney Love, Stars without Makeup) along with popular favourites ‘Yoyo Diet Queens’ and ‘Fears for Spears’.

A post-performance exhibition will run from Sunday 24 April to Sunday 1 May, 2005.
