"On Alternate Days: Paintings by Nancy Witt"

“On Alternate Days,” paintings by Nancy Witt, will be exhibited at Randolph-Macon College’s Flippo Gallery in Pace-Armistead Hall, located at 211 North Center St. in Ashland, Virginia. With more than 50 one-person shows to her credit, Witt’s paintings have been included and won awards in exhibits from New York to California. She is represented in the permanent collections of Chase Manhattan Bank, NY and Zurich; Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC; and the Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Va. Witt has completed more than six hundred paintings during her artistic career.

In addition to the Ashland artist’s numerous awards and accolades, she has published a book – “On Alternate Days, The Paintings of Nancy Witt.” Her work also was the subject of the independent film “Vanishing Point.” Awarded an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts degree from Randolph-Macon in 1997, Witt has had a diverse career to include experience as a commercial artist and arts educator.

This art exhibit is one of the many programs provided in the rich lineup of the 2004-05 Randolph-Macon Cultural Arts & Entertainment Series.
