Tyme Gallery of Havertown, PA is going to New York for three weeks. Edna M. Davis, photographer owner, director and of Tyme Gallery has been invited to curate an exhibition at the Venezuelan Consulate Gallery in New York. Davis will take seven extraordinary artists from the gallery who reflect Tyme’s eclectic nature. The artists are: Frank Bruno, Valerie Craig, Kim Davolos, Cyril Donkor, Sandi Lovitz, Kyle Margiotta and Steve Oliver.

Frank Bruno is an award-winning artist and teacher. A graduate of The York Academy of Arts, York, PA and he attended Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY.  Bruno who teaches art marketing for the serious artist has won several awards in the Annual Manhattan Arts International Juried Competitions in addition to numerous regional and local awards. Bruno has exhibited extensively in New York City, Philadelphia and galleries in the Northeast region.  Bruno works from the spontaneous a spontaneity that combined with talent that lend to his provocative creations. His work is figural, abstract oils on canvas that are bold and colorful.

Valerie Craig is a self-taught artist, with more than twenty years in the field. Her in depth study has been enhanced by workshops with noted artists such as Carolyn Garawecki and Robert Wade. She has also studied with Michael Doyle. Valerie’s art can be found in numerous private and corporate collections. Her paintings have frequently been chosen for greeting cards and most recently a book cover. Valerie’s art is on permanent Collection at The United States Coast Guard, Portsmouth, VA, The United Bank of Virginia, Norfolk, VA and Pennsylvania Trust Company in Radnor.

Kim Davolos is a graduate of Binghamton University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Fine Art. Her newest work is influenced by her admiration of the Academic Classicists. She has exhibited her work across the country in galleries in Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York. Her commissions include a commemorative painting of Veteran’s Stadium for AmQuip Crane Corp. on display at the Lincoln Financial Field. Davolos is infamous for her study of “Adam and Eve,” first rendered by Tamara de Lempicka. It stirred up quite a bit of controversy at Tyme Gallery last year when owner Edna Davis was asked to remove the piece from the window by local police. The painting was later returned to its rightful place in the window.

Cyril Donkor is a powerful painter and sculptor from Ghana. He was first inspired to work with wood by his godfather who is a master carpenter. Donkor’s surreal images, both in wood and on canvas, depict life in his homeland. His view is, “Never appreciate my work when I am dead, rather do it now”. Donkor’s work has been exhibited in Ghana and in the Philadelphia and New York areas. Cyril Donkor has promoted his work with a Premiere Portfolio at absolutearts.com since 2002. Sandi Lovitz, a graduate of Penn State University holds a degree in art education. Her styles, which range from realism to abstract are always bold with color. Lovitz states, “Finding the balance between color, composition, line, shadow and rhythm, without having to rely on a realistic or tangible object, has always been a personal challenge of a successful abstract art for me”. She will be exhibiting her new line of abstracts on plexi glass. Lovitz’s work can be found in galleries along the eastern coast from New York to Florida.

Kyle Margiotta is also an award-winning artist. Some awards include the Marcel Vertes Award Ely Competition, The Bernice Travis Award, and the Ben Eisenstat Award. Some of his collectors include the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of the Arts School of Dance, and the Financial Executive Institute. Margiotta’s work displays a love for the human form using subject matters that range from everyday life to documentary-style images to the surrealistic. The images he produces are presented in Caravaggioesque light with a Vermeer-like finish.

Steve Oliver is an award winning wildlife artist. He creates wildlife and nature art, which captures each animal's character and personality. In 2004 - Steve's painting of a wolverine, "If Looks Could Kill" received one of the six Awards of Excellence at the Society of Animal Artists' 44th Annual Art for the Parks. Also, two of Steve's paintings were juried into this respected show.
