"Call to Artists: Media Art Festival Friesland No.9 Deadline"

The 9th Media Art Festival Friesland will take place in September - October, 2005 in the Nothern Province of the Netherlands, Friesland. Media Art Festival Friesland is an international platform for visual arts, video, film, new media and sound. Locations of the Media Art Festival Friesland are Theater and Gallery Romein and Fries Museum both situated in Leeuwarden, the province’s capital, and at Museum Smallingerland in Drachten.
The ninth Media Art Festival Friesland is looking for new work to include in the program. So please send your vhs, dvd, cr-rom or internet project! Deadline is: wednesday June, 1st.
The call for entries takes place internationally at academies of art, technical colleges, art galleries, media art festivals, as well as at cultural and educational centres.
SINGLE CHANNEL WORKS from a variety of artists form the presentation of works of video and cd-rom. The aesthetic, narrative and form of production depart from the tradition path of analog video.
EXHIBITIONS take place of multimedia works from young, creative artists of the Dutch academies of arts, design and technology whose forms of presentation and methods go beyond traditional means. Single channel works of video and cd-rom will be shown at the exhibition.
WORKSHOPS present a selection of the single channel works of video and cd-rom in an informative and educational course open for public and for students of vocational traning for 15-18 year olds and for 18+ year olds.
