"Call for Artists: National Register of Sculptors"
2005-05-20 until 2005-12-31
Royal British Society of Sculptors
London, , UK United Kingdom

In December 2004 the Royal British Society of Sculptors launched an exciting new scheme – the ‘National Register of Sculptors’. The RBS Register will be the first national body for all sculptors living and working in the UK. For an annual fee of £35 sculptors will profit from this new scheme designed specifically to promote their name and keep them in touch with the wider sculpture community. Registered sculptors will benefit from various RBS programs created to support sculptors in early stages of their career. They will additionally receive monthly email bulletins with details of exhibitions, events, lectures and debates as well as private viewing invitations to the RBS' Annual, Bursary and Bronze casting award exhibitions.

What is significant is that the register is non-selective, open to all practising sculptors living and working in the UK. The register will enable the Society to provide detailed information in response to enquiries regarding registered sculptors. The information will be made available to visitors via a PC interface – an easy way to browse the information and a permanent resource in the RBS Gallery, 108 Old Brompton Road, London.

Prof. Brian Falconbridge PRBS says of the new scheme, "it is an inspired initiative, which, as the value of its service to sculptors in the UK becomes evident, will eventually become a one-stop directory of all practitioners. It reflects not only the Society's rejuvenation but also its intention to become a more eclectic institution that supports the understanding and survival of sculpture as an art form in the widest sense".

To register write, call, email or fax leaving your name and postal address and request a National Register of Sculptors application form to the address above. Note: The register is an email based service so please use this medium for enquiries. info@rbs.org.uk
