"Works by Five International Women: Trisha Lambi, Nelleke Allersma, Heidemaria Thiele, Maz Jackson, and Thea Vos"
2005-06-02 until 2005-06-30
Marziart Internationale Galerie
Hamburg, , DE Germany

Marziart Internationale Galerie in Hamburg presents works by Trisha Lambi (Australia), Nelleke Allersma (Netherlands), Heidemaria Thiele (Germany), Maz Jackson (United Kingdom), and Thea Vos (Netherlands) from 3 June 2005 through to 30 June 2005. Marziart Internationale Galerie is owned and operated by artist Marion Zimmerman and her aim is to offer a space where international artists can present their works to the German public as well as providing a meeting place for artists and the arts community.

In accordance with a high level of quality control, four artists/photographers and one sculptor are selected from the international art community to exhibit each month thereby ensuring an ongoing eclectic mix of high quality art is on display.

Trisha Lambi will be the first Australian artist to exhibit in the Gallery and is known for her haunting figurative nudes. The sharpness, technical proficiency, and the intense light cast on the subject of the image truly captivate the viewer. Lambi was invited to participate in and represent Australia at the Fourth edition of the Biennale Internazionale dell’Arte Contemporanea in Florence in December 2003 and since then she has held a successful solo show at SODA Gallery in Avalon Sydney in late 2004. Her show was the subject of a positive review in the Sydney Morning Herald of which an excerpt follows “Each of her oil on canvas paintings…exude a mysterious imperturbability somehow mixed with a hot blushing light that seems to emit from the body…What she has done in her paintings is collar light’s absorption and containment in the skin” She is scheduled for another show at that gallery in early 2006.

Lambi’s work is held in private collections in Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland and the USA. An artist to look out for in the future as her works continue to deliver a fresh perspective on contempory figurative painting.

Trisha Lambi has been a Premiere Portfolio artist since 2001. You may view more of her work at www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/t/tlambi.

Maz Jackson has also been an absolutearts.com Premiere Portfolio artist since 2001. View her works at: www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/m/mazjackson/
