Seven Stories Institute
invites artists to participate in one of the largest
collaborative artworks ever as part of a campaign to
globalize resistance to the war in Iraq. Artists do not
need to be a professional artist to be part of this
project of resistance. They just need to be opposed to
the war and own a pencil. According to the most reliable estimates, over 100,000
Iraqi civilians have been killed as a result of the
U.S. invasion of Iraq. Seven Stories Institute asks each artist to send
one drawn figure to represent one Iraqi victim of
the US occupation.
The organizers ask artists also to send a small photo of themself,
also no larger than 1 inch in every direction. They will
exhibit the drawings and the photos together
(unidentified) in conjunction with forums and books
about Iraq. Send an email address so they can make
contact about the exhibition.
