"Charles Linder: Veloflaneur"
2005-08-08 until 2005-11-18
Brian Gross Fine Art
San Francisco, CA, USA United States of America

Bay Area conceptual artist, Charles Linder, opens Veloflaneur, an exhibition organized by Brian Gross Fine Art, in the lobby gallery at One Post Street, San Francisco, on Monday, August 8, 2005. A painter, sculptor, and multi-media artist, Linder presents a series of lightboxes and photo panels that reflect upon an ephemeral summer experience in Paris, France in 2004.

Charles Linder spent three months last summer racing around Paris on his bike trying to capture the essence of Parisian life.  Linder’s fascination with love, light, and motion led him to document his experiences in photographs and text, which he has translated into a series of lightboxes.  The images are lit from behind resulting in a stunning presentation at that underscores Linder’s enchantment with the “City of Light” and how candid photographic fragments can evoke memory and heighten emotional response.

Charles Linder, born in 1967 in Pittsburgh, PA, received his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and his MFA from the University of California, Berkeley.  He has been included in exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe.  The exhibition continues through November 18, 2005.
