"International Art Show of Contemporary Arts Opens Today"

Over 200 artists working in painting, sculpture, photograpy and representatives from the arts industry will be exhibiting at Libr’Art 2005 through October 2nd. With over 25 nationalities represented, work in 2,500 oevres will be shown thematically. This is the eighteenth edition of this exhibition of contemporary art. Among the participants is Belgian artist Patrick Gysemberg who will show his new art series of paintings, a strange combination of action painting and realism, to the grand public during this 10 day show in Libramont, Belgium.
Patrick Gysemberg's Nautical and Arctic action painting impressions create a new painting series.
After a journey of seven times towards the arctic sea world around the island of Svalbard and Norway, the northern Ice border, it came clear to the artist that he had to share these rare and exquisite moments in time and place with the world, since Gysemberg realized that only a few fortunate people are privileged to see this once in their lives. Patrick has seen it seven times...Moreover, seven is a magical number bringing luck and happiness.

"Meanwhile I have created a few paintings. The strange thing is that at first there was no sign of "action painting" to it, it was mere figurative, natural painting. Still, I felt again that something was lacking. By adding a touch of action painting to it, they, my paintings, became at once vivid and reacted as if brought alive. I did not create a new style...just accidentally I combined two ways of creation and found out that this is indeed working in the end result. I only do hope now that my audience, my viewers think so too! Otherwise I certainly do have a problem."
