Photographs, regalia, posters, and video footage document 50 years of powwow tradition in Chicago. The photographs in the exhibition celebrate a half century of the Chicago powwow experience, documenting drumming, singing, and dancing, and highlighting the four circles of a powwow. Selected objects such as moccasins, a beaded pouch, leggings, and a breastplate from the ISM collection provide additional insight. This exhibition was organized by the American Indian Center of Chicago and Jane Stevens of the ISM Chicago Gallery.
