"Change of Address"

The Guild Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the gallery at a new and larger space with a group show titled, "Change Of Address". The exhibition will be on view from 7th October 2005. The show will feature as many as 36 renowned and promising contemporary Indian artists. The Guild Art Gallery was founded in November 1997 by Ms. Shalini H. Sawhney (Director of the gallery). Since then it has been working with an objective of identifying new and emerging artists with a desire to promote the best of Indian contemporary artists and their art.

"Change of Adress" will feature works by K.G.Subramanyan, Akbar Padamsee, S.H.Raza, Krishen Khanna, A. Ramchandran, Gulammohammed Sheikh, Bose Krishnamachari, Amit Ambalal, Arpana Caur, Laxma Goud, Manjit Bawa, Subodh Gupta, Sudhir Patwardhan, Shibu Natesan, G.R.Iranna, Jehangir Jani, Laxma Shreshtha, Sudarshan Shetty, T.V.Santhosh, Riyas Komu, K.P.Reji, Prajakta Potnis, Prabhakar Kolte, Pooja Iranna, Justin Ponamany, Heeral Trivedi, Baiju Parthan, Arunanshu Chowdury and Anant Joshi.

This show is not a thematic show but is an occasion to celebrate the opening with the artists and art lovers and present works of art which itself is an important contribution to the contemporary Indian art scene. The show will remain open till 29th October 2005.

The gallery has been holding historically important shows emphasizing important streams of art which needed to be explored and brought forward. The Guild has always been commited to a greater understanding of contemporary Indian Art, a place where artists, viewers, collectors, critics and dealers meet and talk, exchange views and ways of seeing and take with them impressions as well as the art objects around which those impressions have developed.
