"Call for Artists: Online Project to Provide Sustained Support for Victims"
2005-12-05 until 2006-12-31
Arts for Katrina Recovery
Newburgh, NY, USA United States of America

Arts for Katrina Recovery is a grassroots, completely volunteer online project for compassionate artists, songwriters, moviemakers, and other individuals and businesses that support sustained action for those affected by the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Art, music, and short movies are needed for online exhibitions, auctions, and sales as a light of hope, action, and healing for Hurricane Katrina survivors. One hundred percent (100%) of auction and sales proceeds are donated to nonprofit relief efforts after related fees are deducted.

The first recipient of sales and auction funds is THE CAPITAL AREA UNITED WAY in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Greater Baton Rouge area and Houston, Texas have the largest number of Gulf hurricane evacuees in our nation. These donated funds will be used to BUY GIFTS FOR FAMILIES based on their needs as 2005 comes to an end and 2006 begins.

Visit the Arts for Katrina Recovery web site for more information on submission guidelines, fundraising, major contributors, and how you can help: http://www.artsforkatrina.com.
