Art at C'era Una Volta presents...C'era Una Volta, Caffe‚ Enoteca, Ristorante & Galleria, in the heart of downtown Alameda, invites everyone to visit their latest art exhibit featuring the works of Dorian Leigh. The solo show opened December 20, 2005, and on Sunday February 5, 2006 there will be an Artist Reception that starts at 3pm and includes delicious Italian food and music.
Dorian Leigh's paintings integrate modern day spirituality with ancient cultures. Leigh stated recently "Through my art, I am able to translate the invisible dimensions that exist inside me. By relinquishing control to whatever is guiding me, I can bring the mysterious into the visible spectrum. Instead of mirroring back our everyday world, I like to peek behind the curtain to see what else there may be. It's quite strange, yet intriguing, and can only be portrayed artistically in abstract or surreal form."
Dorian Leigh combines the mysteries of religions with the teaching of Jungian Psychology and utilizes numerology, ancient universal symbols, color, archetypes, nature and her own interpretations of insight, into her works. Don't miss this thought-provoking, yet whimsical, exhibit.
