2006-01-18 until 2006-01-31
gallery twenty-four
Berlin, , DE Germany

Gallery twenty-four hosts an exhibition of winners in the Art Interview International online competition that ran virtually in the second quarter of 2005. The competition attracted artists from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States. 134 original works were submitted from 43 different artists. First prize went to William Wray fom the US for his urban landscape paintings. Second prize was awarded to Croatian artist Pamela Ivankovic who creates optical art as raku fired ceramics. And third prize was won by Patrick Gysemberg from Belgium for his mixed media works.

TS Maxim Gorkiy, the Russian cruise liner, fully operated by Phoenix Reisen, Bonn, Germany, gives Patrick Gysemberg his inspiration for his new nautical series. Gysemberg continues to create works for this series. "After a journey of seven times towards the arctic sea world around Island Svalbard and Norway, it came clear to me that I have to share these rare and exquisite moments  in time and place with the world, since i have realized that only a few fortunate people are privileged to see this once in their lives. I have seen it seven times... Moreover, seven is a magical number bringing luck and happiness. So I am working now on a painting series of this magnificent piece of the earth  to share with you all." - Patrick Gysemberg

Patrick Gysemberg has been a Premiere Portfolio artist at absolutearts.com since 2003. View more of his work at http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/m/mylifeisart/
