Gallery Vertigo is a non-profit artist-run centre founded in 2002. The centre operates under the auspices of North Okanagan Artists Alternative, a registered non-profit society. We are located upstairs at Suite #1 - 3001 - 31st Street in downtown Vernon, BC, Canada in the historical Winnipeg Union Bank Building. The gallery is maintained by volunteers and operation is supported through the rental of six studio spaces on the premises, as well as through donations, memberships and fundraising. Gallery Vertigo hosts up to sixteen exhibitions a year. Emphasis is on showing innovative and experimental work by emerging and mid-career artists. Community involvement is also emphasized and the gallery has established strong liaisons with other galleries in the region, with Okanagan College, School District 22, The University of British Columbia - Okanagan and with local writers' groups. The centre offers resources to artists and the public through a resource room which stocks current Canadian arts periodicals, books and offers free internet access. Gallery Vertigo's hours of operation are Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Call us at (250)503-2297 for more information, email: info@galleryvertigo.com, or drop by the gallery.
