"Abstract Beauty: Work by Jack Tarver"
2006-03-02 until 2006-03-30
Bradshaw Gallery, J. Erik Jonsson Central Library
Dallas, TX,
USA United States of America
Jack Tarver is having a solo art show “Abstract Beauty” at the Bradshaw Gallery on the 4th floor of the downtown Dallas library. The Central Library is located at the northwest corner of Young and Ervay. The Bradshaw Gallery is open during regular library hours (Monday-Thursday 9 am-9 pm, Friday-Saturday 9 am-5 pm, and Sunday 1 pm-5 pm). Admission is free. Jack specializes in visual effects, textures, and patterns on paper and other textured media. These effects can be read by the conscious and unconscious mind without being filtered by the language of interpretation. Whatever the medium, his works demonstrate a vivid and vibrant use of color. The paintings are striking and completely unique to the artist, intimately drawing viewers into a “vision of fantasy” away from the ordinary and mundane.
“I put a lot of energy and thought into it, and all that energy and effort is there for the viewer to feed off of.”
Jack attended Brookhaven and El Centro Community Colleges and earned an Associate of Arts degree. He has had solo art shows at The Gallery at South Side on Lamar, Zubar on Lower Greenville, The Avocado Tree on Henderson, and Lakewood Library. His group shows include the “Out of Africa” Art Exhibit at South Side, Hue Gallery in Mansfield, and 14th Street Gallery in Plano. Jack has made donations to the Dallas Museum of Art Beaux Art Ball for the last 3 years. Other donations include the Women’s Crisis Center, International Travel/AIDS, and Operation Kindness. Current Dallas area exhibits include Sol’s on Mockingbird & Abrams and Campisi’s in Downtown Dallas. He has had several previous exhibits at the Starbucks in Lakewood, on Mockingbird/Abrams, Greenville Avenue, Allen Street, and Lovers Lane & Inwood.
