"Paul du Toit: Drawn to Abstraction"
2006-05-10 until 2006-06-03
Erdmann Contemporary
Cape Town, , ZA South Africa

Paul du Toit recently worked at the prestigious Dieu Donne Papermill in New York City, where he created original works in paper pulp. Dieu Donne Papermill is one of New York's most dynamic art centers dedicated to the creation, promotion and preservation of new contemporary art utilizing the hand papermaking process.

‘I'm excited to show this specific body of work in South Africa. The works are made from paper pulp captured within a paper background. Very unique with so many new dynamics and qualities.”

The last two years has been particularly challenging and fruitful for du Toit in New York City. His solo exhibition in 2004 in Manhattan was very well received, and he followed this with a working program at the Dieu Donne Papermill in SoHo, NYC during October 2005.
