The Gallery Van Gestel at Plaza de Los Naranjos 11, Marbella celebrates the arrival of The Andalusian International Artists Group between 23rd June and 16th July, 2006, consisting of 19 artists from 9 countries. This collective exhibition will showcase their work at the Gallery Van Gestel. The Gallery Van Gestel is the oldest Art Gallery in Marbella – 1968 – and is located in Marbella´s Orange Square in the old town of Marbella.
Gallery Van Gestel presents a magical and energetic group exhibition featuring new work by 19 contemporary artists from the Andalusian International Artists Group (aia-group.net). With a compelling range of media, themes, figuration and abstraction, many with Spanish themes. This exhibition includes art by artists some of whom will show for the very first time in Spain.
The AIA-Group was formed in 2005 by professional and dedicated visual artists from around Europe, Scandinavia, the USA and South America, who are all living and working in the Province of Andalucía, in southern Spain. The Group boasts 24 members from 9 different countries.
The AIA-Group objectives are to encourage members to promote their work, enhance their knowledge, assist them in their careers, and promote best standards as Artists, between people from diverse backgrounds.
"I am excited to have had the opportunity to include the works of such diverse artists in an exhibition about the far reaching consequences of color, form, concept, and execution", says Joyce Rawlins, of Gallery Van Gestel
