Show of new paintings by Alexandra Rozenman will be on view at Argyle Zebra Gallery from August 4th to August 26th. Rozenman’s works are vividly colored and crammed with fantasy imagery. Some of her figures look straight from a Russian folk tale, her original place of birth. Rozenman came to America 16 years ago, as a Jewish refugee. She brought all her imagery with her. Her world intersects with the world of theater and circus.

This Winter Rozenman was awarded a prestigious MacDowell Colony award. Her “ 5 Feet” show is on view in Gallery 360, Minneapolis this month. In September she will be a visiting artist in Rocky Neck Art Colony and will have a personal show in Goetemann Gallery in Gloucester, MA.

Alexandra Rozenman was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1971. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from State University of New York and a master’s from Museum School in Boston, MA in 1996. She presently works and lives in Saint Paul, MN with her husband and Labrador Retriever.
