Indepth Arts News: "Christopher Polentz: Lost Expedition and Other Curiousities" 2006-08-10 until 2006-10-07 Distinction Escondido, CA, USA United States of America
Polentz composes his paintings with small brushes and tremendous detail. One cannot even see his brush strokes with the naked eye.
He completes the piece with a unique frame that he designs and builds for each piece often using rusted metal and copper.
His paintings are innocent and welcoming, but also leave the viewer curious as to what lies beneath the “Botanist’s” peculiar mustache or the “Birthday Boy’s” calm glazed look. Distinction will be featuring twelve of Polentz’s paintings including “Bride”, which has been in progress for almost three years.
Polentz has been commissioned to create commercial illustrations for a number of companies including Atlantic Records, Cobra Golf, MGM/UA, Mattel Toys, Las Vegas Flamingo Hilton, and many others.

Distinction is pleased to announce a solo exhibition featuring the paintings of Christopher Polentz. The exhibition will run from August 10-Oct 7 with an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, August 12th from 5-8 pm. RazzMa Jazz will be playing from 6-8 pm. Select artist studios will have specials for one night only in honor of the gallery's two year anniversary. Polentz has been teaching students to paint meticulously at the Art Center for twenty years. During that time he was able to perfect his own style, but unfortunately was not painting on his own. We are happy to announce that he is now spending his days on his own creations.
