"The Middle East Landscapes: Work by David Hewitt"
2006-09-06 until 2006-09-30
First Street Gallery
New York, NY, USA United States of America

During the month of September 2006 the First Gallery in New York presents work by david Hewitt in an exhibition entitled The Middle Easet Landscapes. David Hewitts paintings, the magical art of show and tell, besides being about self-reflection, discourse and creative development, all important concerns of Hewitts, have always been about the theatre of real life. David Hewitt studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and the School of Art and Architecture at Cornell University. He has lived in Ecuador, and the United Arab Emirates.

First Street Gallery accepts submissions from artists for review. Applications are reviewed at membership meetings every 4-6 weeks. To apply artists must bring four to six original works of art to the gallery at 5:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. This may be supplemented by slides, resume, and reviews. The submitted work should be removed from the gallery the same evening at 7:30-8:00 p.m. Where it is not possible for the artist to bring original works, slides and other materials may be sent in advance of the meeting for an initial review. Materials sent by mail should be accompanied by a SASE for their return. Results of the vote are mailed out within a week. Meetings are usually held on Fridays and the date of the next meeting can be obtained by contacting the gallery during its normal hours, Tuesday through Saturday between 11:00 am and 6:00 pm (646-336-8053).
