"EL Stewart: Back Up and Push"
2006-10-02 until 2006-11-30
Kress Gallery
Spokane, WA, USA United States of America

No still life. No landscapes. Just 25 singular, distinctive and uncompromising figure works...some dissolved into total evocative abstractions of color and depth and passion. Back Up and Push, a collection of acrylic on canvas and acrylic on linen, are the life-affirming results of what happens when an accomplished artist steps back from the place where she's been and moves confidently, and with purpose, in another direction. See the results and meet the artist, E.L. Stewart, on Friday evening, October 6, 2006, in the Kress Gallery at Spokane's River Park Square, where the solo exhibition will remain on display through the end of November. This exhibit is presented in conjunction with the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, Spokane, WA

E.L. Stewart states about her work, "My work is said to be engaging and powerful, beginning in the heart of a realist, painted by the hand of an expressionist. The primary focus of my work is to portray the wide variety of human interaction. I approach my painting with a genuine integrity, clinging to the basics of personal connections, both tangible and emotional. I am in my studio daily. I only exhibit the works that I love and believe are exceptional. I attended a private school majoring in Illustration, Graphic Design, and Advertising before relocating to the West Coast. I continue to study independently and paint passionately."

E.L. Stewart has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2002. View more of her work atwww.absolutearts.com/portfolios/p/painterstewart
