The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (the Contemporary) is pleased to announce the search for an Executive Director to be responsible for the managing, planning, coordinating, and implementing the policies, projects, and programs of the organization. We seek an experienced candidate with a proven track record who is able to inspire, initiate and manage all phases of a leading-edge contemporary art organization. Specific responsibilities include supervision of programs, development of goals, budget and personnel management, and fundraising leadership.

The Executive Director is the administrative head of all areas of the center - coordinating, supervising, and managing yearly activities, long-range goals, and articulating vision to a broad constituency.

The Executive Director advises the Board of Directors on all aspects of the Contemporarys profile and activities.

Qualifications: A minimum of five years of related experience preferred with demonstrated results in developing financial resources for a nonprofit organization. The candidate needs excellent communications (verbal and written), organizational, financial management, and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively with diverse community groups and key public constituencies is a must. This individual must have a strong working knowledge of the Atlanta Metro area (particularly its artistic as well as its funding profile). An understanding of contemporary art along with a keen awareness of the role that an art center plays in the context of a community are critical requirements.
