"Requiem for a Globetrotter - An 86 Year Journey"

The border city of Tecate, Baja California Mexico on December 14, 2006, will open the exhibition "Requiem for a Globetrotter - an 86 Year Journey", work of Mexican artist Laura Castanedo. The City Gallery of the Baja California Cultural Institute (ICBC) will provide the space in which this exhibition will take place, which consists of several pieces of installation, essemblages and photography. Laura Castanedo has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2003.

"Requiem for a globetrotter" by Laura Castanedo The city of Havana held past October the first presentation of the exhibition "Requiem for a globetrotter" of Mexican artist Laura Castanedo. The National Academy Gallery of Fine Arts "San Alejandro" of the Cuban capital provided the space in which this exhibition took place. This work, which initiated as a tribute manifestation to one of her near loved ones, concludes with a unique and personal questioning for those personal objects of those which go away. On the matter of the work the artist exposed: "Requiem for a globetrotter” symbolizes the inheritance of my grandfather, the part of him that remains with me and that now transcends and turns into art as a form of tribute form towards him".
