Il Ramo doro opens the 2007 with an important exhibition by Michele Roccotelli. Opened on January 13, 2007 with introduction by Yvonne Carbonaro, the exhibition will be open to visitors every day but on Thursday and holidays until January 20, 2007. On the final day of the exhibition Marilena Mercogliano will introduce the book of poems Laltra Capri by Yvonne Carbonaro and Maresa Sottile. Art, full of lyric intuition, intense and vivid, permeated with vibrating poetry of nature and of roots, which emanate expressive strength and communicativeness, that invest the observer with slashes of light. - Yvonne Carbonaro. The expressiveness of Michele Roccotelli is tied to his Apulian homeland, whose nature is translated into a poetic message that spreads in a recognisable space like an ideal landscape. His research may even seem expressionistically informal, while really his experimentation surpasses figuration through the creation of imaginary geometries of great evocative effect. In his works, the observers view comprises touches of brightness, suggestions of landscape, images of colour, sketches of pictorial modulations that are the signs of a fantasy towards a non-decorative representation, rather purified by a rationality that refuses the exaggerations of narrative. - Vittorio Sgarbi

Biography: Michele Roccotelli was Born in Minervino Murge in 1946. He carried out his artistic studies in Bari and improved them in Rome. He began to exhibit in 1968 and, since than, he had many personal exhibitions. He was invited by many important art galleries to exhibit in all the most important Italian art fairs and to some fairs abroad. He exhibited in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Switzerland. We remember between his most important exhibitions: 1997 San Giorgetto of Verona, 1990 in the Swabian Castle of Barletta and I Monacelles church of Ostuni, 1996 Spartkasse Gallery of Munchen, 1999 Villa Campolieto in Ercolano, 2002 Margutta Palace in Rome, San Severo a Pendino church in Naples. He took part with the Ghelfi Gallery in the International Art Exhibitions in Miami Beach.
