"Larissa Morais: Contemporary Realism"
2007-01-27 until 2004-02-02
Zantman Art Galleries
Palm Desert, CA, USA United States of America

Zantman Art Galleries in Palm Desert, California presents Larissa Morais in a solo exhibition entitled Contemporary Realism. The show opens on January 27, 2007. I grew up fascinated by the expressiveness of the arts of Ancient Greece and Italy. As a result, in my own art, I explore the lives of the instincts and desires, myths and symbols, dreams and liberated sexuality. All of that as a reflection of our times, states Larissa Morais, who has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2005.

Larissa Morais work can be viewed in her Portfolio at: http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/l/larissamorais/.

Born 1966 Ð Moscow, Russia.

BFA, Moscow Theatrical Arts Institute
Graduate School of Restoration and Conservation.
Sculpture courses at Serguey Gaydukov Studio.
Extensive course of Copying Techniques at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.

Morais has exhibited throughout Europe, North America and Australia. Her work is included in significant private collections including that of the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow.

LUMEN MORTALE COLLECTION

"Lumen Mortale" is Latin for "Mortal Light", an inversion of the Biblical phrase "Lux Eterna", which means "Eternal Light". The works explore the inherent sadness of painting perfect bodies that will one day change and wither. Instead of the eternal light of the soul, the works exalt the fleeting light of bodily existence.

Zantman Art Galleries continues its tradition since 1974 with their gallery in Palm Desert, California on the prestigious El Paseo street. Zantman Art Galleries have become nationally and internationally known by knowledgeable art collectors because of the consistency of high quality and the wide ranging styles in the paintings by prominent artists from America, France, Italy, Spain, China, Korea, and other areas of the world.

There are unique and affordable paintings, sculptures, abstract for all collectors, including corporate collections. Every visitor is welcomed by our courteous and knowledgeable staff and is invited to browse in exquisitely laid-out rooms. The atmosphere is one of beauty, warmth and graciousness. Exhibitions change frequently, not only to offer artworks of contrasting styles and media, but also to acquaint our visitors/clients with the latest works of our artists as well as with up and coming trends in living art today.
