The Physics Room is an internationally recognised arts platform dedicated to the development of innovative contemporary art in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Physics Room provides assistance to art practitioners with resources and opportunities to achieve a higher level of professional and creative development. We work to promote and encourage a greater acknowledgement, understanding and value of contemporary art among New Zealanders. The Physics Room programme comprises a range of parallel, integrated activities—including exhibitions, publications, performances, lectures, web archives, and local public art projects—all which create multiple opportunities and give the issues and ideas raised by the programme the widest possible dissemination and discussion.
We encourage proposals from artists, writers and curators interested in participating in The Physics Room’s programme. The programme is determined by the Director in consultation with the Board of Trustees and curatorial committee.
We are currently seeking exhibitions and events for our 2008 programme.

Notification of successful proposals will be received in due course.

All proposals will be kept on file for a minimum of two years. If you require slides or original documents to be returned within this time, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope.
