Debra said that “Our System” was completed in March 2006 before and without knowing that they would expel Pluto from the group. It was also on display in the Vanderbilt Planetarium in Northport, NY through the spring of 2006, when only 2 months later, in the summer of 2006 when Pluto's classification as a planet was revoked. " I hope perhaps one day Pluto can return," states Reilly.
Debra's work has been noted for her assorted approaches to color, ranging from lightly blended pastels to brightly intensely colored designs and this painting is surely a great example of her finesse with color.

absolutearts.com Premiere Portfolio artist Debra Ann Reilly is participating in a group exhibit entitled "Water and Light: XV" being held at the AQA gallery November 16 through December 1st, 2007. Featuring area artists working in water-based mediums, in any techniques and depicting any subject matters or themes, the AQA (Alliance of Queens Artists) Gallery is located in Forest Hills, NY. Debra Reilly is showing the painting entitled “Our System”, which is a 30” x 40” acrylic that very uniquely depicts as an abstract and impressionist representation of the solar system as it were.
