MagicLogic, an exhibition of new works by Jordi Fornies will run at The Dame Street Gallery, 36 Dame Street, Dublin 2 from November 29 to December 9, 2007. From Jordi Fornies' Artist Statement: "The world around me is an incredible source of emotional inspiration. I can explain my emotions through images, breaking the barrier of their previous concealment. There‚s no better way to translate and explain these feelings and perceptions - the rewards of using a virgin surface and my own imagination. Every piece is a metaphoric recreation of a dream, and every single morning, when I awake, I have a yearning to start dreaming again and again."
Jordi Fornies continues, "Starting my pieces at the deepest layer, I build complementary surfaces as perfect metaphoric containers of the universe of my ideas. I enhance the visual expression with the sensory element of the image. I feel an absolute freedom to evoke the deepest perceptions with appropriate colours and materials, - these are the magic ingredients in the recipe for my work."
A catalogue (with a preface by Irish Times journalist Cathy Dillon) will be available two weeks prior to the show.
