Nationally recognized painter Lynne Friedman is featured at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia December 18, 2007-February 16, 2008 in a solo exhibit "Dancing Ground of the Sun:Paintings of New Mexico". Friedman has just completed her third Fall in New Mexico at Ghost Ranch. Previously work was completed in Taos, New Mexico through a grant from The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation. Lively and colorful paintings capture the grandeur and of the terrain, the brilliant light of the mesa , the beauty of the cliffs and mountains and the dazzling colors of the season. Lynne Friedman has had a Portfolio with absolutearts.com since 2002.
Friedman's worked was chosen by the US Department of State- Art in Embassies Program. Her work is in the corporate colllections of McGraw Hill, Pfizer, the Ritz Carleton Hotels, IBM and numerous other corporate collections nationwide. Further work may be viewed on www.mountaincloud.com.
Overall Friedman seeks the dramatic and poetic grandeur of nature in paintings inspired by the Hudson Valley and such varied terrains such as the Arizona desert, coast of Cornwall, England and the High Sierras. Her process incorporates exacting essence from a location by seeking to explore its emotive properties, personal responses and exploring the formal concerns of light, color, and the tactility of paint.
