"John Nolan to Prticipate in Affordable Art Fair London"
2008-03-12 until 2008-03-16
Art Movement
London, , UK United Kingdom

John Nolan's work will be represented on the 13th-16th of March 2008 (Preview 12 March) by Art Movement at the AAF - stand number D10. The Affordable Art Fair returns to Battersea Park, London with its Spring Collection. 120 galleries, many new to the fair, will exhibit a fresh line-up of paintings, sculpture, photography and original prints - all priced between £50 and £3,000. John Nolan has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2001. His exuberant modern figurative style combines bold outlines with bright exotic colours.

John Nolan was born in 1958, in Dublin, Ireland. His interpretation of various motifs ( Fish, Landscape, Flowers, Birds,Human Figure,Still Life,Trees) transmits a positive upbeat feeling to his viewers. Along side this exploration John has been developing his abstract style, for many years. In the abstract work he experiments with colour through gestural brushstrokes. There is no discernable subject matter, he has abandoned the motifs of his modern figurative work and focuses on pure colour and composition. Basically it is the artist, the canvas, the colour and the brush. His palette is still as vibrant as ever, using exuberant and exotic colours. He starts a painting with no definite preconceptions but simply an impulse, a subliminal thought about colour, space or form. Nolan pushes beyond realism to build images that have power and urgency. It is a journey attempting to understand himself and existence, to give through his painting definition to the essence of being in the universe. John's paintings are charged with masses of energy which cause the surface to move in vibrant harmony. Whatever inner pulse guides his work dictates his longing for colour and forms, and explores his imagination and inner experience.
