Fili Plaza attaches equal importance to the plasticity and to the symbolic conceptual idea behind each of her pieces, forming an intense and intimate work that comes from inside and flows in front of the observer to reach, again, the deepest emotions.
These are humanist root sculptures created for the enjoyment of the spirit, far beyond the pure sensory pleasure, where appears, almost omnipresent, the concept of love, supported by her excellent technical grounds.
In his facet as a designer of jewellery, or rather sculptress of jewellery, she moves all that great sensitivity to the world of small format, combining so masterly purest forms with other organic ones. All of them are designed with fine materials and semi-precious gems, resulting in excellently balanced plastic creations in the form of unique pieces or numbered collections aimed preferably, but not exclusively, at women.

Fili Plaza - Sculptures and Jewelry will be highlighted at HOTEL DEL ARTE
in Barcelona from April 11 until June 30, 2008. Fili Plaza was born in Salamanca in 1957, moving to Barcelona to study interiorism at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, where she also took courses in ceramics. This is a complete and versatile artist with experience who presents a double facet, the sculptress and designer of jewelry. Her sculptural work is supported in the human body as a vehicle of expression, through which conveys an almost symbolic world of sensations subtly reflected in male and female torsos mutually linked to merge into one with a great load of sensitivity.
