Little Treasures: An Exhibition of Contemporary Paintings curated by Paula Trevisan at Galleria De Marchi in Bologna opened on May 10 and continues through May 24, 2008. Included in the exhibition are works by absolutearts.com Premiere Portfolio Artists Keith Morant and Melanie Prapopoulos who both have been members since 2006. Trevisan comments, I am proud to present to you these ‘Little Treasures’. They are the results of our intense search through the magical and spiritual domains of our existence. Excavated with deepest thought and care, they are the polished jewels from each artist’s heart. Every gem is a fresh and spontaneous idea before it grows into something weightier - the rare pearl discovered deep within the luscious oyster.

Following on from his 2006 success in New York, 2007 has seen Keith Morant enjoy even greater success in Europe. He and his wife spent six weeks in Italy where Keith exhibited in Ferrara and Florence with resounding results. In three months he has picked up three International awards, the most important being from the great Florence Biennale where 840 artists from 76 countries competed for accolades. Keith was presented with the ‘Premio alla Carrierra’ –‘The Lorenzo Il Magnifico Award for a Lifetime Achievement in Art’.
Keith presents what he terms the “fruit of his foray” into Italy. Keith had a two-month hiatus from painting (the longest in memory for him) and has recently moved into a new large studio where he has been working hard for Italy and America. In May he opens in Bologna through his Italian curators, Trevisan International Art, a show titled ‘Little Treasures’. However, before that he flew out to New York on April 19th for another solo show in Manhattan.
As the demand grows for this truly International creator, Alexis Internation feels highly privileged to be able to retain the exclusive rights to his work and exhibitions in New Zealand.

Sandra Miranda comments about Melanie Prapopolous work, A point of encounter between line and colour, a tacit space that allows us to enter, to explore, to think, there is research among different mediums, a strong research for the communication in ethereal ways. Almost unperceivable and sometimes strongly underlined, Prapopolous constantly brings in elements of her studies, her interests without never blocking gestures that come from a more deeper self.

Her words through painting are messages that can be read from various levels and to times from parallel positions, they can be perceived with extremely softness as well as pure strength.
There is ability of saying things in a balanced way, it is clear that Prapopolous is constantly trying to contrast her own works in the eternal research for an equilibrium. Bringing back existential, spiritual atmospheres through colour and composition, the physical gesture becomes the voice, the colour the message.
