Indepth Arts News: "a politic: politics, art, creative persuasion, and media access/influence" 2008-07-02 until 2008-08-16 Reflect-arts, Inc. at Gallery XIV Boston, MA, USA United States of America
a politic explores the dynamic between politics, art, creative persuasion, and media access/influence while seeking to uncover what is of central interest in our current political atmosphere. Complete with voting booths for ‘best in show’ and interactive stations, a politic will inspire our public freedom to consider and express a politic.
a politic will run from July 2 through August 16 at Gallery XIV Boston. The preview event on Wednesday, July 2nd coincides with the signing of America’s Declaration of Independence and will feature performances, food, cocktails and an artist salon; the exhibition will open on Friday, July 4th. Extensive programming is scheduled during the run of the show. Winning works determined by popular vote and curator picks will be announced July 4th.

Gallery XIV and Reflect-arts present a politic – a free exhibition that features artworks by contemporary American artists that express astute notions of politics while exploring and communicating a politic. Works selected for a politic will be based on the artist’s ability articulate and present thoughtful and compelling artworks that engage the viewing audience. The exhibition a politic will inspire an interactive space where a myriad of artworks become a vehicle and departure point for free and open exchange. Multiple points of view inspired by the artists will converge, enticing each viewer to participate in a political dialogue in their own way. Selected for the exhibition is Janusz Obst who has been a Premiere Portfolio Artist at absolutearts.com since 2006.
