Indepth Arts News:

"Jonas Liverod: Aah, The Smell of Blood and Snow! (Permanent Daylight pt.1)"
2008-09-19 until 2008-10-18
Pool Gallery
Berlin, , DE Germany

Pool Gallery is pleased to present the Swedish artist Jonas Liverod's first Berlin exhibition. This event will mark the first installation in the ongoing series called Permanent Daylight. Throughout 2008 and 2009 the series will travel through a number of galleries and museums (among others: Ystad Museum of Art, Kristinehamn Museum of Art, and Nordin Gallery in Sweden). The exhibition will also function as the world premiere for Liverod's new book "The Violence" released by the Norwegian publisher noCUBE in collaboration with Re-public. The title of the show at Pool Gallery sets the tone: dark humour and twisted Scandinavian psychedelia gone bad. Through his manic large scale drawings, uncanny objects and site-specific constructions, the artist builds an atmosphere of violent but seductive tension, punk ritual and unfocused energy.

Jonas Liveröd was born in 1974. He lives and works in Malmö, Sweden and has been active in the international art scene since graduating from the Enschede Academy of Fine Arts (Netherlands) in 1999. He has had exhibitions and projects at galleries and museums in Spain, Germany, the United States, France and Vietnam among others. Furthermore, he is a steady contributor for the Vietnamese contemporary art magazine Visual.
