Indepth Arts News: "Faces to Figures by Charles Cham" 2008-11-27 until 2008-12-18 Karin Weber Gallery SoHo, , HK Hong Kong
His works play heavily with the "duality of life"; his double faces are equally unbalanced, mirror emotions are depicted, his signature appears top and bottom of every painting, colour opposites are used side by side. Even his attitude to his work is a balanced equation "I believe that drawing is thinking and painting is feeling. Therefore, I draw what I think and paint what I feel". The result is a visual satisfaction that collectors worldwide love and are devoted to.
Charles Cham started painting at the age of five inspired by the first movie he ever saw. After working as an editorial artist for a few years in Kuala Lumpur, he went to France and became a member of the Association des Artistes Indépendants in Aix-en-Provence. He has exhibited in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Australia, France, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Portugal and Malaysia.
