Indepth Arts News: "Call for Artists: New Photography - Seeing Through the Socio-Anthropological Lens" 2008-12-25 until 2009-01-25 AccessArts Publications Ltd. Lefkosia, , CY Cyprus
Contemporary documentary photography has moved away from the traditional black and white images associated with photographers like Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange and Henri Cartier Bresson. Contemporary photographers embrace a variety of subject matters, and thus transcend tightly predetermined photographic genre definitions. Anthropological, sociological or cultural concepts such as identity, transition and change, culture, power, gender and class, preoccupies the work of a number of influential contemporary photographers. See for example the work of Martin Parr, Rineke Dijkstra, Nikki S. Lee, Gillian Wearing, Tina Barney, Jacqueline Hassink, Thomas Struth and Richard Renaldi.
Deadline:
Note: high resolution images (min 300dpi) will be required from photographers whose work is selected for publication.
