"Bryan Collins: Bloom"
2009-01-06 until 2009-01-31
First Street Gallery
New York, NY, USA United States of America

First Street Gallery in New York presents Bryan Collins a solo exhibition entitled "Bloom". The exhibition opened January 6, 2009 and continues through January 31, 2009. Collins comments, "I paint in watercolor. It's where I began as a child. When I think I have gained some expertise, I am reminded of how deep the waters can be. So you might say I'm a perpetual beginner." First Street Gallery a New York non-profit, provides opportunities for both member and non-member artists to exhibit, through juried shows and other exhibitions; presents special exhibitions to engage local residents who in the past may have had little exposure to the arts community of New York; and presents programs to enhance the art-viewing experience for art students and other members of the public, through discussion of artists' work during exhibitions.

Bloom
Bloom is not so much an idea as rather a feeling.
It is a hot summer day in New York City,
one of those uneventful days where you just lose yourself looking.
Then one finds little reminders.
The pain of 9/11 still lingers, embedded in the pavement and in the air.
No longer can we look at life around us as just banal.
There is more to it all.
Everyone has their own story.
Bloom.
