"Lisa Adams The Future of Paradise Past"
2009-01-12 until 2009-02-07
Lawrence Asher Gallery
Los Angeles, CA, USA United States of America

Lawrence Asher Gallery is proud to present The Future Of Paradise Past, twelve recent oil paintings by Los Angeles artist Lisa Adams. The exhibition continues Adams’ cautious examination of a possible paradise that contains birds, botanical elements and enigmatic structures. This unfamiliar place offers the viewer an opportunity for Koanlike contemplation.

“Her (Lisa’s) work’s not so much a process of entropy as imperfection, things don’t become cockedup, things are cockedup right from the start. It’s a message that broaches a spirituality of imperfection. Once it does so, it’s up to the viewer to make peace, find eddies of beauty and serenity, where they can find it, on the canvas and, especially, beyond.” James Scarborough, excerpt from exhibition catalogue.

Lawrence Asher Gallery is located at 5820 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, across the street from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and adjacent to the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Free parking is available on Wilshire Blvd. and behind 5858 Wilshire Boulevard. Enter on Stanley Ave. For more information, please call 323.935.9100 or visitwww.lawrenceasher.com
