"No Light Perception : Work by Patricia Benitez and Evita I. Mendez-Fritze"
2009-03-23 until 2009-03-27
NJCU Visual Arts Building Gallery
Jersey City, NJ, USA United States of America

New paintings by Patricia Benitez will be exhibited in the show "No Light Perception", held at New Jersey City University's Visual Arts Building Gallery, 100 Culver Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, from March 23 to March 27, 2009. The closing reception will be held on Thursday, March 26, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Works by Evita I. Mendez-Fritze will also be included in this exhibition. Patricia Benitez has promoted her work a Portfolio at absolutearts.com since 2006.

Patricia Benitez work uses perceptual play, with labyrinthine voids and barren spatial scapes to relate the intangible concept of blindness through a visual media. Heavy in atmosphere, the large scale paintings are done in disorienting compositions, rendering levels of distress and confusion, recreating the sensations of lost sight.
