Young contemporary artist Hui Ling Lee re-imagines the industrial, gritty and sophisticated urban landscapes of New York City in her latest series of artwork "New York City Psychedelia & Hip Hopster". Hui Lin's artistic inspirations include her parents' incredible portfolio of artwork, Giorgio Morandi, Milton Glaser, Andy Warhol and Josef Sudek. The Hip Hopster series mark the beginnings of Hui Lingís exploration into the artistic and physical capabilities of the human body through a unique music and dance genre: hip hop and break dance. This fascination and appreciation for the human body is as old as humanity itself. Thus, Hip Hopster celebrates the grace, beauty, athletism and duende of hip hop music and break dance as a global cultural phenomenon since its humble beginnings in Jamaica and New York City way back in the 1920s.
